Two Weeks From Today...

my first born baby girl will be enjoying her first day of Kindergarten...and I will be crying my eyes out!

Recently, we attended Kindergarten Round-up where she was able to visit the school and meet some of the teachers. During the event, she enjoyed sitting at a desk...

as well as some circle time...

I begged & pleaded with the principle to ensure that her cousin, K-K, is in the same class. Figured that it would make the transition a little easier for the two of them. I only had to agree to be the Class Mom, as well as volunteer for PTA duty.

Poor Kadence is going to be as sad as I am with the older kids being back in school.

Guess that means that Bryleigh, her, & I will have to join a local MOMs Club to keep us busy while class is in session.

Can you believe that three out of the five kids will now be in Elementary School? Where did the time go?

Ah, those bittersweet milestones! I still can't believe she starts school this year! As you know, the kids will adjust to kindergarten just fine, you on the other hand, not.so.much. Hang in there and enjoy your one-on-one time with Bry. We miss you!

I'm still missing my Kindergartener during the day, and she's been in school for 2.5 weeks. But it is getting a little easier.
Her little brother misses her too! He squeals with delight when she gets off the bus.
Tonight is my first PTO meeting. Not sure if I'm going to be actively involved. I just want to volunteer in the classroom!
Enjoy the last two weeks with your big kid. Do some fun stuff while you still have the time. We took Katie out to dinner the night before school started, and had special time with her. And I made a cake the first day for all the kids to enjoy when they got off the bus. They loved it!

I can't imagine what it's like to have your kids go to school. Bittersweet?

Awww, I'll second what Haute Mama said. It IS bittersweet. I'm reminded of what one of my friends with older children once told me about how parenthood is called "raising children", but it should be called "raising adults". I guess that's what we're all doing here...although sometimes the major milestones seem to slip by too quickly.

I'm here via the Bloggy Train! I'm the person below you. I loved reading this post because it so reminded me of the day I dropped my son of for his first day of Kindergarten. It will be a day I'll never forget. Looking forward to reading through more of you blog.

Oh, I don't even want to think about it! My daughter is only 14 months. I can't imagine it. Your children are precious, PRECIOUS!

I just found you through the blog train. My older daughter is going to be in second grade. It seems like yesterday I was bringing her home from the hospital. I'm not sure how she got so big. I hope you have a fun time being the mom in class and your role as a parent to a kindergartner.

I am going to be crying with first grade this year. All day, every day is going to be awful. I feel like I will officially lose any influence that I have had over the last 6 years.

Good luck to both Mom & the shiny, new kindergartner!! I hope K enjoys her mommy-alone time!
