(Update) We Interrupt The Scheduled Posting Of...

One Year Ago Today (IV) to bring you this newsflash...

Rotavirus has invaded the Scarlet O'Kara household. Gross!

I have been changing foul diapers, doing endless loads of soiled laundry, spraying everything down with disinfectant, and bathing Miss Bryleigh in hopes of conquering this evil entity that has caused so many problems. We have even had to postpone her "big" birthday party because we didn't want to "share" this with our friends.

Once everything is back up and running in our usual crazy fashion without the interruption these unpleasant smells, we will return to the spot where we left off. According to the Internet, this should only take 3 - 9 days!!!

I have photos to post and stories to tell...

(Was just watching the news and see that there is a new vaccine that can help with this. Might have to call the pediatrician and see if it will help Miss Bry! Has anyone had experience with this vaccine?)

I hope Bry gets better soon! This is the germy season - we've shared pink eye, the croup, and now some nasty cough that has lingered for nearly one month!

Quinn got the vaccine and it's painless. It's an oral liquid that he had no problem taking. Good Luck!

I heard about a vaccine a few years ago, too, but we never got it, either.

I hope your little one gets to feeling better soon. I don't think anything is as worse as the rotavirus...yuck!

Yep, been there and done that. Katie had it when she was about 18 months old. We had to go to the ER because of dehydration. And then Dan caught it and then I caught it. I have never felt so AWFUL in my whole life - coming out both ends in a VIOLENT manner. So I feel awful for little Bry!

For us, it took about 3 days for each person to work it out of their systems. Day 1 is when you feel the worst, day 2 is when the stuff comes out, and day 3 is just the lingering yucky feelings. So hopefully you'll be done with it soon.

The good news is that once you get it, you don't usually ever get it again. But, yes - you can totally tell that it's different than anything else because of the smell. It's horrid. Our doctors called it the "Roto Rooter" because it churns your whole body up.

Anyway, I insisted that Jackson get the vaccine, and so far so good.

Oh, I so feel for you We had a bout with the rotavirus when Noah was about 18 month (he's six now) and I still remember the horrors of it like it was yesterday. it was definitely the worst illness we have dealt with since we had kids. We treated the diaper rash with maalox on his bum.

I apologize that I'm just now gettin back to you from the comment you left! I don't always get the notifications of comments on my yahoo account for some reason. Boo yahoo! Anyway, as far as the bags go, be thinking of what you want, and let me better answer your question after Thursday. I got swamped with a 60 shirt order, shower curtain, Christmas tea towels, a bag, 4 shirts, and 12 pillowcases within the last two weeks, so I'm trying to get all of that done by Thursday night. I will be sending my old machine in after that, and will be out of town for most of December. I'm thinking if you have something in mind (I won't have time to order the fabrics, but can guarantee cuteness if you give me their favorite colors or things they like, and can get them locally), I might be able to get the bags in next Friday or Saturday. Again, I am so sorry that I'm just now getting back to you. I'll be in touch.........

Yuck! Good luck ridding your home of that badness. Our babes have gotten I think 2 doses of the rotavirus vaccine so far. It's a syrup thing they drink and have had no problem with. Thinking of you!

Goodness, I sure hope the whole house hasn't come down with the plague! I was just thinking about ya and a bit worried, so I thought I'd stop by. Hope all is well. I'm missing your posts!
