Time Flies By...

when the baby's having fun. Doesn't seem possible that 8 months have passed since my little Bry girl was born. Gone is the helpless little baby...replaced by the giggling, fast crawling, drool bug! She is also chattering a mile a minute, pulling herself up, and trying to keep up with the older kids.

These photos were taken the night of Kaleigh's 5th birthday. She crawled over to some of the toddler toys and climbed aboard. The grin on her face was priceless.

Along with all of her other activities, she is still trying to get that first tooth to break through the surface. Everything goes into the mouth where she gums it until there is nothing left but mush. So, I took the advice of an old friend and let her chew on some very stale licorice. Thought that was better to use than the leather that she recommended. It tasted better to Bry too.

I was just glad that the blue didn't dye her sweet little face.

Hope you all had a wonderful Monday!

It's Sunday Night...

and I can't sleep. So, I'm visiting my favorite blog-buddies and found something pretty interesting on English Tea

So...I had to try it also. It rates the reading level of your blog...and while I'm not writing on the Postgrad level like Cloggsy, at least I'm smarter than a 5th grader!

Ladies Who Lunch...

that's what we are. What better way to spend a rainy afternoon in Sunny, FL than to meet friends for some wonderful conversation and yummy food. The only thing that makes it better than normal is when the friends are in from out-of-town and you haven't seen each other in almost 5 years!

Ms. Holly and I met shortly after I got engaged and moved to Central Illinois. We had lots of wonderful times together during the 2+ years that we lived close to each other. And despite a couple of moves and some other hardships, our friendship has remained.

When we were neighbors, her girls were around the same age as my girls are now. I even remember going to the hospital right after her youngest was born.

How wonderful it was to see those precious little angels all grown up into beautiful young ladies.

They are both a credit to their momma!

Let's try not to let another 5 years pass before we get together again!

Travel safe lovely ladies.

Date Night ...

is a wonderful thing. It helps transform Ky & Bry's daddy and mommy into just another couple in love!

I love you honey! We should do this more often.

So, I have been a really bad daughter-in-law...

and that has to change right now. When Papa Ron left Sunny, FL a couple months ago to head back to the heartland for the summer, I made a promise to post photos of the growth progress of the girls all the time...so that he doesn't miss out on all the changes in their lives.

While I have posted some cute photos and funny stories, I still have tons of wonderful photos that are just sitting in the My Photos file. Bad daughter-in-law. Just change my name to Outlaw!

Well Papa Ron, this post is for you. So just sit back and enjoy.

Hope you enjoyed these and I will try to post a couple more later today. Now will you forgive me and let me back into the In-Law crowd?

I've Been Practicing Yoga For A Couple Years Now...

and I like to think that I am pretty flexible, but this latest pose just has me shaking my head in disbelief. I mean seriously...

The Sleeping Baby

Just sit on your mat with your legs straight in front of you in a V-shape. Then bend at the waist, lay your forehead on the mat between your legs, close your eyes, and pretend your sleeping like a baby. Now hold that pose.

Two More Things About Me...# 101 & # 102

OK...so I have been hearing some "grief" from two of my bestest friends about not mentioning something about them in the "100 Things About Me" post.

So, here goes nothing...

101. I met my bestest friend (I'll call her AB and she will know why!) when the two of us interviewed for the same job. My older sister, who worked at a placement agency, sent us both on the interview because she said we were "separated at birth". The company loved us both and split the job responsibilities in two so that they could hire us both. On our first day of work, she pranced into my office, sat on my desk, ate some of my dried apricots, and passed gas! To this day, we still laugh about it and call dried apricots "Pooty Things"!

102. At my last job, I worked in the Accounting Department for a major Home Builder. My supervisor (the same woman who gave me that dreadful movie about the homicidal clowns), the HR Specialist, and I use to go to lunch together all the time. We usually went to Tijuana Flats or Old Chicago and then hit the Steak & Shake drive-thru on the way back to the office for their Sippable Sundae Milkshakes. Shortly after I learned that I was pregnant with Bryleigh, both of them left the company. One moved to Texas and the other went to work for another company. I miss them both and cannot bring myself to enjoy milkshakes from Steak & Shake anymore without them!

So...AB and Redpath...are you both happy now?

Hugs and Kisses to you both!

And Denise...I hope you don't feel slights...after all, you were mentioned twice!

Late Night TV

It's past midnight...what am I doing up?!?!

Bryleigh's teething and has an upset stomach. Poor baby. Not much that I can do except love on her and rub those sore little gums.

So while we are both awake, I decided to do some channel surfing to see what is on TV. I have to say that this program intrigues me as well as leaves a sick feeling in my stomach...

The show is touted as a "Social Experiment" to help five young couples decide if they have what it takes to get married, set up a household, have and raise children...etc.

When I first heard about the program, I was sick to my stomach at the thought of handing over either one of my girls to a teenage couple to practice parenting with. Thankfully the producers of the show seem to have thought ahead. Each house is rigged with cameras so the real parents can watch 24/7 from across the street...plus there is also a professional nanny just footsteps away to rescue the infant from harm's way...

I think that this couple seems to be the best at parenting their infant.

This couple seemed to really want to play with their infant and have fun...but they got frazzled too fast.

This couple seemed to do alright with their baby, but there was alot of "drama" before the little one arrived.

I was worried about how this young man would react to their baby, but was surprised at how he stepped up to the responsibility. She decided to play prima-donna when the real mom showed concerned that she wasn't doing enough to help the baby eat. Now she wants nothing to do with the baby.

And this couple...they have the youngest and cutest baby in the group. That cute little baby just lights up when she sees her temporary daddy but cries for her fake mommy. Too bad he seems to be the class clown and keeps referring the the baby as "It"!

From what I have read, the teenage couples get to take care of their babies for 3 days and then move on to toddlers, tweens, teenagers & pets, and finally elderly parents. Pretty sure that by the end of the experiment, they won't look as cute and eager to please!

I guess this was the first show. Cannot believe that not only did I watch the entire show, but now I'm posting about it!

So tell me...am I the only one watching this? Am I a nerd or just sleep-deprived?

Bry's A Big Girl Now...

'cause she got her big girl car seat!

And she's lovin' it.
